Following the recommendations of the Africa-South America Summit, which took place on November 26th-30th 2006, in Abuja Nigeria, The Kingdom of Morocco will host the Trade Ministerial Conference of African and South American Countries in Marrakech, on June 17th-20th, 2008.

This section provides comprehensive, comparable and up-to-date statistics series on trade in merchandise and commercial services for an assessment of world trade flows by country, region and main product groups or service categories. Furthermore, it provides statistics on capital flows, which includes investments flows, FDI and the investment codes. FDI inflows to and outflows from a country may be useful indicators of economic health and investment appeal.

Trade

This section presents some statistics and facts concerning trade issues in Africa and Latin America. Firstly, it highlights the current situation and the regional trade agreements in force for the two trade blocks. Secondly, the key elements of the Economic partnership Agreement between the European Union and ACP countries are presented. Thirdly, a summary and description of the current free trade agreements between Africa and LAC are exposed. Lastly, the Agreement on the Global System of Trade Preferences Among Developing Countries (GSTP) which was established in 1988 as a framework for the exchange of trade preferences among developing countries in order to promote intra-developing-country trade is exposed.
