Oliver Chinganya is Director of the African Statistics Centre. Has a wide experience and knowledge of statistical practice across Africa at both national and international levels. A Strong believer in the effectiveness of partnerships, coordination at country, regional and international levels for effective and sustained development programs. Technical competences include strategic resource management, strategic statistical policy development, household and enterprise surveys, prices statistics, labour statistics, poverty estimation and other economic statistical areas such as national accounts. He is also Vice President of the International Institute of Statistics - a prestigious global statistical community of statisticians. His recent publications includes ; Comparative analysis of costs of some selected infrastructure components across Africa: Results from the 2011 International Comparison Program for Africa (2011 ICP-Africa) Oliver Chinganya, Abdoulaye Adam and Marc Kouakou (2015); Consumption patterns: Oliver J.M Chinganya, Mary Strode, Lee Crawford, Marta Moratti and Felix Schmieding a contributed chapter to the Book The emerging Middle Class in Africa edited by Mthuli Ncube and Charles Leyeka Lufumpa (2015); and Comparative analysis of costs of some selected infrastructure components across Africa, Oliver Chinganya, Abdoulaye Adam and Marc Kouakou a contributed chapter to the Book Infrastructure in Africa: Lesson for future development edited by Mthuli Ncube and Charles Leyeka Lufumpa (2017). He holds MSc. in Statistics, University of Southampton, UK and MBA from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.
