Privat Denis Akochaye is Knowledge Management Officer of the Economic Commission for Africa at the Sub-Regional Office for West Africa (ECA/SROWA). His areas of expertise include data and information management, applied statistics, microfinance, programme and projects management. He was associated member of the International Association of Survey Statisticians (IASS), also of the section GRETAF-CI, Groupe d’Etude sur l’Education en Afrique- Cote d’Ivoire, and member of the RenSE, Nigerien’s Monitoring and Evaluation Network. Other scopes of work include survey research in areas of education, knowledge, attitude and practices of family planning in Cote d’Ivoire. Prior to joining ECA, served the Programme Coordination Unit of UNICEF, Deputy Representative Office, and for a while as Administrative Officer for World Vision Area Development Program of Tera, in Niger, and was also a Consultant on a tripartite programme Government of Cote d’Ivoire, ENSEA (Ecole Nationale Superieure de Statistique et d’Economie Appliquee d’Abidjan) and World Bank, in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire. Mr. DENIS AKOCHAYE holds a M.A. in Microfinance from the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management, Belgium; and another M.A. in Project Management, from the University of Littoral Cote d’Opale, in Dunkerque, France. He holds a Certificate of continuous training of the “Programme de formation en fecondite et sante de la reproduction”, awarded by the Institute of Demography, Universite Catholique de Louvain (UCL) in collaboration with the “Institut de formation et de recherche demographiques- IFORD” and the “Centre Population et Development-CEPED de Paris”. He has a Certificate of the “Sampling Program for Survey Statisticians (SPSS) in Survey Research Techniques awarded by the Institute for Social Research (ISR), University of Michigan, USA.
Mr. DENIS AKOCHAYE holds an Engineering degree in statistics, the diploma “d’Ingenieur des Travaux Statistiques” from the “Ecole Nationale Superieure de Statistique et d’Economie Appliquee” in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.
