Didier Habimana is a diligent communicator with a proven and unblemished track record in the United Nations and in several other international organisations. He currently serves as the Communication Officer at the UN Economic Commission for Africa. He is responsible for the design and management of communication strategy of the ECA Office for Eastern Africa and he produces written materials, video, graphics of that office which covers 14 countries (Burundi, Comoros, Democratic Republic of Congo, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Kenya, Madagascar, Rwanda, Seychelles, Somalia, South Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda).
Throughout his carrier, Didier acquired and well-built communication skills working with national, regional, international organizations and various media outlets for more than twelve years.
Before joining ECA in 2011, Mr Habimana served as Communications Officer of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA); and as Senior Communication Officer of World Vision International.
Mr Habimana holds a master’s degree in Strategic Management from Nairobi –Mount Kenya University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and communication from the National University of Rwanda. He has also a range of training from Washington D.C., from Jackson States University in the USA.
