Nyeri, Kenya — With COVID-19 cases continuing to rise in Kenya more than a year after the pandemic’s arrival in the country, public health measures remain at the centre of the response.

The Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport, has called on public transport operators to scale up preventative measures and continue practising responsible behaviour to curb the spread of COVID-19.

Digitizing the transport sector has become inevitable. As the different countries adopted different measures to curb the spread of COVID-19, one of the first sectors to be hit hard was the transport sector as the movement of goods and people came to a standstill.

Global road, air and sea organisations and unions have today called on the world’s heads of government gathering at this week’s UN General Assembly to end a ‘global humanitarian and supply chain crisis.’

IRU Secretary General Umberto de Pretto has addressed 14 ministers of transport in a closed door round table session during the 12th Transport and Communication Forum, hosted by the Turkish Ministry of Transport.
