The African Institute for Economic Development and Planning (IDEP) of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) welcomed, on Wednesday 15th November, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and online, more than 100 African experts at a High-level conference to celebrate its 60th anniversary.

The ECA Office for North Africa concluded on 20 October in Nouakchott a training workshop on practical conditions for exports within the framework of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

A technical training organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) and the RES4Africa Foundation on “Promoting the openness, attractiveness and readiness of electricity markets in Africa through policy and regulatory reforms to crowd-in private sector investment” commenced today at the African Institute for Economic Development and Planning (IDEP) in Dakar, Senegal with the participation of experts from national electricity regulatory institutions and Ministries of energy from eight member States, namely Algeria, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Tunisia and Senegal.

The African Institute for Economic Development and Planning (IDEP) brought together experts from African Member States, IDEP Alumni, ECA Young Economists Network members, Inter-governmental and International Organizations, academia and Civil Society Organizations to discuss innovative fiscal policies to respond to current and future shocks towards achieving the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The African Institute for Economic Development and Planning of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) welcomed the 2023 cohort of African leaders and practitioners of the technical and vocational education and training (TVET) Centers, in Dakar, Senegal, during a regional face-to-face training workshop. Fifteen leaders and fifteen practitioners, from Cameroon, Union of the Comoros, Djibouti, Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda, took part in this regional training workshop from 19 to 21 September 2023.

The African Institute for Economic Development and Planning (IDEP), in partnership with The National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN) and the Malaysian technical cooperation programme of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is organizing an online training on Sustainable Development Planning and Management. It’s the Third Country training Program (TCTP-IDEP) under the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme flagship or widely known as MTCP - IDEP collaboration 2023.
