This course provides a practical and conceptual foundation in spatial planning as a tool for promoting balanced, inclusive, and sustainable local development. It explores how spatial policies, land use planning, and urban-rural integration can enhance service delivery, economic growth, environmental management, and social equity at the local level. Through a combination of theoretical learning and case-based exercises, participants will gain the skills to design, implement, and monitor spatial development frameworks that align with national priorities and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
