ECA's mandate to promote the economic and social development of its member States and the achievement of the 2030 and 2063 development agendas in Africa is centred on the Commission’s three core functions, namely:

The Journal of African Transformation is a bi-annual inter-disciplinary and peer-reviewed scholarly periodical published by the UN Economic Commission for Africa (ECA). The Journal is committed to publishing very high quality and original research that makes cutting-edge advances on African development issues. It seeks to publish scholarly empirical and theoretical research articles that contribute to Africa's development thinking, policy and practice.
Focuses on the central role of achieving effective regional cooperation and economic integration among member States by supporting efforts to deepen regional markets, boost intra-African trade and global trade, accelerate industrialization and tackle the challenges of structural transformation.
