Archives & Records Management

About

ECA’s records are unique and irreplaceable, providing evidence of actions, transactions, and decisions made over time, and ensuring accountability, transparency, and administrative efficiency. The Archives and Records Management Project (ARM) was established in August 2011, to enable ECA to comply with UN records and archives management requirements and to ensure the smooth implementation of her mandate. The Archives and Records Management Unit of the Knowledge Management Services Section is responsible for developing and implementing sound archives and records management principles and practices across the Commission. The ECA Registry oversees the management of all mail and diplomatic pouches, ensuring the accurate and timely handling of both incoming and outgoing mail of both the Commission and other UN Agencies in Addis Ababa. The Unit has the responsibility to ensure that information related to the conduct of the Commission’s official business is properly captured, documented, and maintained as evidence of the transactions of such businesses and that, the information is organized to guarantee its availability in both paper and digital form.
